
Gregory Joffe leads the company’s legal, compliance and governance activities, assisting in all aspects of the investment process such as negotiations, due diligence and structuring. Since Instar’s inception in 2014, he has played an active role in asset management, serving as interim General Counsel for Nieuport Aviation Infrastructure Partners in 2015. Gregory also contributes to broader business and product development.
Gregory holds a Master of Business Administration degree, specializing in real estate and infrastructure, from the Schulich School of Business and a Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and currently serves on the board of the Israel Cancer Research Fund. Prioritizing knowledge-sharing and collaboration, Gregory has served as a sessional instructor in the Master of Real Estate and Infrastructure Program at the Schulich School of Business, sharing his deep experience negotiating and structuring infrastructure development transactions.
In 2019, the Canadian General Counsel Awards recognized Gregory with an award for Mid-Market Excellence. He was also part of The Legal 500’s GC Powerlist (Canada) in 2020 and named by Lexpert in 2021 as one of Canada’s leading lawyers under 40.
